When four young Athenians take flight to the forest on a Midsummer’s eve, passion, playfulness and plenty of predicaments ensue as the worlds of reality and fantasy collide. For this is no ordinary forrest- it is the haunt of the fairy King and Queen, Oberon and Titania. Yet, quarrels between them causes a quandary in the natural world. Water, once pure, now confounds the lovers and if the course of true love never did run smooth in the city, it becomes far more convoluted, warped by the magic of the forest- abetted by the knavish Puck. In this realm of contradictions and perplexing parallels, will true love truly be found? Will order be restored in nature and man? And will the muddlesome mechanicals pull off their perplexing play in time for Duke Theseus’ wedding day
